If you're looking for a whisper quiet fan, this is not it. However, if you are looking for cooling comfort on a hot summer's night with some white noise in the background, then this is the one you're looking for.Although not really super quiet, the sound is not obtrusive while watching tv or listening to a pod cast. It's definitley quieter than 5 o'clock traffic heading home after work.Now, the force of the air is quite good. I have my fan set at 16 feet from my bed and even on the low speed there is a gently breeze. Step it up a notch and you can really feel the air moving over you. On high it isn't hurricane force but you definitely know it's there.The little remote is basic, on and off and three speeds with a timer which I have not used. The only down side to the remote it that it has to be pointed at the exact area on the fan to make it work. After a few times you'll figure it out and then no problem from then on.Although the entire fan isn't very heavy, maybe 5 or 6 pounds, it is well made and the stand is very stable. Fans have not changed much in design over the past decades as its difficult to improve on something that was pretty good to start with. The biggest differences are the remote capability, what the material made of, and the improvement on the blade cover to keep little fingers out.The price point is good and the Lasko brand is well known for the longevity of their products. Get yourself one of these fans. You'll be glad you did!

I enjoy this fan as a bedside companion.As it has just enough settings for high,med,low and a timer of 3 different settings.With the option to have swiveling or stationary it's not to tall at a hight of a 5'8 person it comes to around their upper abdomen area.Also easy to assemble and un assemble to clean in minutes.The remote is a plus if you happen to have it across the room

Back cover has a little damaged seems this happened when it was being packaged. The delivery was good on a rainy day but I received a dry package no damage. I just received it yesterday it is working okay so far no other issues.

Took a second to get it together wasnt hard I just hate reading instructions. I love the timer and the speed is awesome.

Fan size / Air flow is good for a 12 x 12 room.The other model without a remote is same and about $10 cheaper. Had I known I would have just gone with that one.

After getting ahold of the company, this item only has a 30 day warranty. Mine worked for the 30 day period. This is 30 days from the delivery date. They didn't have to replace or repair. Buyer beware, don't order this and look at warranties to assure that they are what you want. It was a very good 90 day fan. If you are wanting 91 days, I would, from my experience, order a different one and stay as far away from Lasko fans has you can. I am 58 years old and I didn't move the fan, from setup, to the 90th day. It wasn't banged up or used by children. I set it up, it ran and then it quit, never moovede or shaken. This is it in a nut shell. If you need a cheap fan, this is the one for you. If you want one that is reliable, from my experience with this fan, DO NOT ORDER THIS FAN. After 30 days it is no longer Lasko's problem. This IS according to the warranty! I am sure they are happy to get rid of 30 day receipts so as to not worry about replacing another fan. The fan quit and I am not happy but that doesn't matter any more. All I can do is to make sure, to the best of my ability that no one else buys this fan as a reliable fan. In my experience, with this fan, it worthless after the 89th day. I am just being as honest and as helpful I can be for others looking at these products. Their reply to me was neither harsh or hateful in anyway so this isn't a personal attack to this company. Just an honest opinion from somebody whom ordered a product in good faith, tried to return in good faith and couldn't. PERIOD Not seeing products before we by them is a risky situation and I don't wish for any other people to find the same problem as myself. I do believe this will be Amazons downfall in the future, yet as a company Amazon can follow the rules set forth by Amazon. I will never by another electrical product through Amazon without it coming with a verifiable 1 year warranty. I hope others find this information helpful with you future ordering from Amazon. This is a LASKO product not an Amazon product. I can't get mad at Walmart if a Dyson vacuum cleaner quits working. I quit shopping Walmart because their products, they carry, became to cheap. I want a fan to at least work for one hot summer, Thanks and I hope this helps. If Lasko doesn't sell anymore products because of this review, then I have helped many people to not buy a bad (as it appears to me) product. If I wanted that I would go back to Walmart. Not as robust as other lasko fans. Pretty weak even on high. The low setting looks like its about to stop it spins so slow.
