Excellent equipment providing 10G to my home-based LAN.
This is an exceptional layer 2/3 device. Maximum flexibility for all ports. Though inexperienced, I was able to get this configured and online in about 2 hours. I am very pleased with it's options and the ability to sustain high speed connections and not overheat. Great piece of equipment! Since it doesn't have a fan it is quiet and doesn't add to the white noise in my computer room.

Fast switch, with a bit of a learning curve
I'm redoing my homelab and saw this little gem. For the price, it's not bad. 8 SFP+ port, all 10G. Perfect for my servers and my computer. It also performs much better than some enterprise equipment. For the first time, I see my servers reaching 5GB, peak, transfer rate. It probably could do better in SwOS.Very low power. This is replacing my existing brocade switch and compliments my CSS326 switch. I did notice a 20% decrease on my UPS load.It does come with rack ears which is nice, but they are a bit flimsy. Now it's "dual boot." Currently running RouterOS. It's great piece of OS. Lots of options. But if you want a simple, easy to use GUI, switch it over to SwOS. Please update the OS once you do. I think there is a fix for DHCP. I switched it over to DHCP, pre update, and rebooted the switch. It didn't pick up an IP address. Switch still function and passing traffic, but I couldn't log into the switch. I had to order console cable and reset the config. It's a powerful piece of equipment and I see it fitting nicely in my environment. Plus, it's the best bang for bucks. You get a prosumer device at a consumer value.

Perfect 10Gb SWITCH (Not router!)
I've had this switch in place now for just over 2 months. I did my research before I bought it and knew what it could do well and what it could not do well, so I wasn't surprised into making a bad review for something I should have known before I bought this device.Let me get it out of the way: If you want a 10Gb router (RouterOS), look elsewhere, it's very well advertised you won't get 10Gb routed out of this device. Devices will link in RouterOS at 10Gb but it just can't handle that traffic in RouterOSAs a 10Gb switch (SwOS), it's perfect for just being a 10Gb switch. I'm personally using LAGG, VLAN's and SNMP on it. It has additional capabilities as just a switch that I am not using. I'm using four different types of SFPs (3 copper, 1 fiber) and all work fine. I'm also powering it from an Ubiquiti USW-16-POE switch which is a bonus for me.Is it super flashy? No, the UI is pretty bare however I didn't want it for the configuration interface, I wanted it for 10Gb switch and in that aspect it's perfect. The UI is functional. Don't be afraid of the CLI!The one thing I don't really like but it's not an issue: I wish the switch was centered in the rack mount ears rather than aligned to the left. The rack mount "ears" feel flimsy but I haven't physically touched the switch since getting everything connected, so not an issue. So, to beat this dead horse further, if you need a 10Gb *SWITCH* with 8 ports, then you can't go wrong with this switch. Just make sure to switch it from RouterOS to SwOS.

Just WORKS
Not sure why the other reviewer had the issues he did, but I have bought 2 of these devices and simply plugged them in and they worked. I DO know that these can be programmed for use as either a router or an unmanaged switch so possibly the unit he received was flashed with the router version of software. I feel for him as it looks like he had nothing but issues and that is never fun. In my case no issues at all and set one up in my office and the other in my man cave and connected together with a 30 meter fiber cable and all is well. Also purchased several NICs and am now running 10Gig on my desktop and 2 others as well as a 10 Gig NAS and 3 ESXI hosts also running 10GIG. Data transfers from the ESXI hosts to the NAS absolutely FLY and the Desktop connection is also very fast albeit slightly slower transfers probably due to moving between 2 switches. (IE the desktop is connected to one switch and the NAS is connected to the 2nd switch.) All in all I am very pleased with these units but I will say that the other reviewer was correct when stating that the software is klunky at best and downright crappy at worst. Chinese half@#@$ software for sure, but it DOES work when you muddle through it. For the price I will take that tradeoff as the equipment simply WORKS.

More expensive that competitors, but much quieter
I bought this to replace the Sodola 12 port switch that was too loud. The Mikrotik cost more, but I was able to sleep in the same room with it. No issues with speed or reliability so far. I have only used 10gb modules.
