Oz of prevention is worth Lb of resolution
If you are considering it, buy it.I wish I had bought this day 1 and or zero.A dirty pirate hooker brought bug herpes into the office and I began to follow BB protocol stripping and putting everything in the dryer before hoping in the shower when i got home.I hated putting my shoes in the dryer. One day the noise of them banging around broke me and i bought this.I tested this in every way possible and it passed everything with flying colors. I checked temp inside and out of everything at various intervals and circumstances. The 360 heat really matters. It heats slow then ramps up. Somehow creates very little heat outside the bag and holds it in well.I got the all clear shortly after buying... so now it sits by the back entrance ready to go if need be.Sidenote, as a gardener i used it to pasteurize my soil(kill bugs, bug eggs and bad stuff.... no fungus gnats). Filled 1 gallon ziplock bags with 6-8 bags per garbage bag... 3 soil filled garbage bags stacked on eachother. I put the temp probe dead center between bag 2 and 3 of the stack. With a decent thickness of soil filled bags... meaning its tough to get the core heated up.It took a few cycles, but the hard to reach center... reached and kept temp... which is an impressive testimate of its heating ability.II wish I bough this day 1 of dealing with a problem and like knowing its ready to go.

I Hope You Never Need This. If You Do, Buy This One.
I hope you never need this, truly. If you do, buy this one. It worked really well.If you put books in it, take them out when they are done and DO NOT OPEN them for a few days. Give them time to completely cool and for the binding glue to harden up again. Lay them flat while they are cooling. If you do this, they will be fine. If you open the book before it is fully cooled, you will break the binding. Put in a book that you don't extra care about first and you will see.Do not put anything in them that can melt. If you wouldn't put it in the clothes dryer or dishwasher, it shouldn't go in here.Great for clothing, stuffed animals, wooden items, etc. Be careful when you load it. The items in it will soften while heating. I put a basket of stuffed animals in it. The basket came out misshapen because gravity acted on the wicker while it was soft.It definitely kills bugs and I would call it easy to use. I found it a good value for the money even though it was pretty expensive. I would have had to throw a lot of items out if I had not been able to heat treat them with this. We called it the Hotbox lol

Easy to use, effective against bed bugs and other pests, and Great Customer Service!
I ordered the ThermalStrike Ranger on 2/2/25, received it on 2/5/25, and upon returning from a trip used it for the first time on 2/19/25. It was easy to set up and use, and the manual is clear and concise. I bought the unit because I was originally concerned about bed bugs (we travel frequently) but it turns out the ThermalStrike unit is also effective against almost all other pests, e.g. carpet beetles, carpet beetle larvae, and carpet beetle eggs. Curious about how to best use the unit, I called ThermalStrike customer service and spoke to Mike, who as it turned out, started the company. To say it was a pleasure speaking with him is an understatement! He took a lot of time explaining the science behind the unit and how/why it works. Long story short, it is effective against almost all pests and their eggs. I cannot say enough positive things about ThermalStrike's customer service and owner Mike Lindsey. He will take extra time to talk with you about your problem, explain what needs to be done, and will do so in a friendly and professional manner; in short, I remain grateful for the assistance. This product is easy to use: read the brief manual, then quick assembly (a couple of minutes), plug and play after that. One plug, no need to plug into two different outlets on different breakers like one of the (well reviewed) competitors. Thermal Strike is much simpler to use in my opinion. According to Mr. Lindsey, the ThermalStrike unit can stretch/contort around a 29 inch suitcase, but I have not tried this yet. Smaller bags (carry-on size luggage, handbags) go in the unit without any difficulties at all. Mike explained to me that various electronics companies have certified that their products are safe up to 140 degrees, so it's OK to put your electronics in the unit - just monitor the unit and when temperature reaches 140 you can be confident that the inside of the laptop got to the magic number of 120 degrees (which kills just about anything in a short period of time), and you can (and should) stop the unit so it doesn't overheat electronics beyond their recommended max of 140 degrees. If you have questions, call customer service and ask for Mike, I'm sure you will have the same courteous and informative discussion that I had. He was generous with his time and even explained why and under what circumstances he founded the company. Very Highly Recommended! So much so, that I bought a second unit for my daughter-in-law's home. You won't be disappointed, and the peace of mind is valuable in and of itself.

Eased my mind upon arrival, and saved home from an infestation
Not only did this 100% ease my mind after staying at an "exclusive" roach-ridden resort in Key West, but the customer service from the owner himself backs this product inspired me to write this review. I purchased the large size, and as recommended, let my items sit for 8 hours to become egg and roach free (my fear was that the roaches potentially left eggs behind in my belongings, and I did NOT want roaches in my home!). I am happy to say after treating my luggage and all belongings (minus electronics, which I wiped down with clorox wipes) my home is safe and my mind was put at ease immediately upon finding this! Aside from its immediate use, I also use this when purchasing second hand books or clothing to ensure no moths, roaches, bed bugs, whatever! I am SO happy with this product, and recommend to everyone I know! Thank you!

Great ….until
This was a great solution for a year. I only had used this 4 times and it worked perfectly until now . After this last trip I put my bag into the unit as usual, set the timer and turned it on.A few hours later, thankfully I was at home and not sleeping when I noticed a burning odor .The unit got so hot that it started to burn my bag and was smoking , The inside bottom of the unit was burnt and the floor under it was so hot that i couldn’t even touch it. I was able to pull the plug and managed to take it outside of the house .This is extremely dangerous. !
