Kendal Large Leather Jewelry Box Locked w/ a Key (11" L x 6.75" W x 14.25" H) LJC-03BK

Bought for my girlfriend, I did more searching and research than I care to admit. Finding a jewelry box that women were happy with that did not have bad reviews is harder than it should be. Spent 100 dollars on this one, worth every penny. Everything women complain about with other jewelry boxes, this one does not have. Things I learned to look and note are this is not top heavy, you don't have to screw it into a wall or hard mount it, all drawers open and close, drawers do not stick or get stuck, everything is square and even, no gaps between drawers, everything is flush and even when closed, can not find any glue on the inside of any drawers or on the felt, all the felt is cut even and lines each drawer perfectly, the mirror is even, comes with key, the lock works, has the ring holder foam to organize and hold your rings up right, felt is soft and will not scratch your jewerly, is not wobbly, very sturdy, nice to look at, no visible marks of poor craftmanship, looks nice enough to hold your favorite jewerly.

I guess I thought this would be of better quality than it is. The top of the jewelry box hinges on just a thin piece of leather (no real hinge) that looks like it is already starting to tear. The crystal type decorative pieces on each drawer are pretty, but aren't all aligned perfectly. This jewelry box is basically cardboard (sides/drawers) and partical board (top/bottom) covered in a thin leathery material. Also, the drawers aren't on tracks or anything, they just pull right out. Lastly, the necklace hooks in the side compartments are cheap and flimsy... I definitely wouldn't put anything heavy on them for fear they would break off. If I had seen this in a store I never would have bought it, but since I don't feel like dealing with return shipping and I'm not sure I can get the quality I'm looking for at $100, I guess I'll keep it. Sometime in the future when I have a few hundred bucks to spare, I'll replace this one with a better quality wooden box. I just hope it lasts until then.

My wife is already outgrowing it, even though its almost 2x as big as her old one. Looks very nice on the dresser.
