Gut-wrenching, Angsty, and So Freaking Beautiful
Few authors can tear your heart out, put it through a grinder, and piece it back together as incredibly well as Samantha Christy. She did it to me in her Mitchell Sisters series, and she’s doing it to me again in her Stone Brothers books. Starting right away with Ethan and Charlie’s story in Stone Rules.Stone Rules absolutely gutted me. The range of emotions, what the characters went through to find and hold onto their HEA, is powerful. I cannot count how many times I wanted to throw my Kindle at the wall one minute and hug the characters so tightly in an attempt to meld all their broken pieces back together in the next. Christy creates two incredibly deep, damaged, and sympathetic characters in Charlie and Ethan. She then surrounds them with incomprehensible struggles, callous villains, and the most amazing and comprehensive found family. And ultimately, all of their individual heartbreaks, their trials and tribulations, and their seemingly insurmountable obstacles to each other prove to be the very glue that brings them together and through their greatest test together. Christy is a queen of plot twists, and she leads her characters and readers through some pretty intense ones. And it’s all worth it. Because Charlie and Ethan are so incredibly amazing together. The audiobook for Stone Rules, narrated by Erin Mallon and Jason Clarke is exceptional. They are truly talented storytellers, their performances bringing out every emotion clearly and honestly with excellent pacing, inflection, and intention.Told from all Charlie then all Ethan’s pov (rather than alternating chapters) provides readers a unique perspective into their story. It’s a way to tell the tale without interruption of the character's feelings and experiences. And while the Mitchell sisters play a role in Charlie and Ethan’s story, it is not necessary to read their stories first. But, I definitely think you should. It just makes all of their appearances and efforts that much sweeter.

Having a hard time choosing what to rate this book😅 i enjoyed it overall and I'm glad for the om drama because I don't think I've ever read a book like this. The hero wasn't book boyfriend material to me and he made a lot of mistakes but he did make up for a lot of them when he wanted to marry Charlie right away and knew he would love the baby like his own even if it wasn't his, was actually really sweet and the pregnancy moments were cute. It is a good amount of drama though, and I while it was a good enough book to distract me and keep me up all night while I'm procrastinating for two finals due tomorrow 😅 it also low-key made me stressed while in trying to procrastinate, so it might not have been the best book to read right now🙃 currently, I'm not sure if I will continue in this world or not, especially because many of them are second chances which isn't my jam😅Safety:Heroine has been sexually assaulted many times and it's a pretty big part of the storyHeroine has previously slept with a lot of guys, and flirts a lot tooHero has a receptionist that he had a "thing" with months before meeting the heroine, and she causes drama (and hero should have fired her long ago🙃)Hero had a daughter that died years before, and no current relationship or appearance from the exHero pushes heroine away multiple times and heroine drunkenly has sex with a guy. She gets pregnant and a big chunk of the book the baby is 50/50 chance his or the heros which causes drama.Hero doesn't sleep with anyone else since meeting heroine.

Ethan and Charlie
This is a wonderful story of two people that have been through so much and have lost a lot. As great as this story is, there are a few things that may be triggers for some. Please pay attention to the author’s warnings on her website.Charlie’s mom was an actress that was getting older and loosing out in roles due to her age. She takes this out on her daughter in the form of physical abuse and trading her daughter for what she hopes will get her back to acting.Ethan looses a piece of himself in his late teens. He has come to terms with it but is afraid of a relationship because he doesn’t want to go through the pain of more loss. Ethan has a list of rules to live by to protect himself. Aren’t rules made to be broken??Ethan and Charlie have more than one obstacle they have to overcome to get to their HEA. Ethan helps Charlie forgive those that have wronged her and Charlie helps Ethan learn that taking a chance on love is worth it.

Despite their past tragedies, these two lost souls found each other - through their journey to forgiveness, they found a love everlasting - loved both Charlie and Ethan.

Lots of twists and turns but brilliant. From the beginning your captured hook line and sinker the characters are so powerful with so many heartbreaking moments that pull you in with the many obstacles they endure

Sexy, fearless and completely addictive!
Do your heart a favour and READ THIS BOOK! Charlie is a rollercoaster of strength, pain, determination, hope and fear - she runs the emotional gamut. There is a truth to her that elevates her beyond the page and into the hearts of the reader. Also the chemistry between Charlie and Ethan is hot. The best thing about this writer is she doesn't keep the reader at a distance, instead we're right there in the emotional trenches with the characters.I originally read this as a Kindle Unlimited but had to go back and buy it as I wanted to put this one on the Keeper shelf. Highly recommended.

Stone rules
Wow!! I've read some strong books about abuse, rape etc but I think Samantha got this right. Not only was it powerful romantic and heart breaking good. Ethan has suffered loss, Charlie has suffered loss but it's a loss that haunted her from her childhood, her so called mother sold her out to her drug dealing buddies producer's her men friends. Hires Ethan to find the twelve men who hurt her badly, scared her to the point her mind wanted them dead, scars on her body from burns. Charlie falls pregnant but it's not cut n dry if Ethan or this Zach character is the father, Charlie feels so remorseful but Ethan proposes to Charlie twenty maybe thirty times, right up to the point of baby Eli been born, yep they get married in hospital, Charlie discovered a birth Mark on Ethan under arm so when she spots the same one on baby Eli she breaks down knowing its over, Ethan is ecstatic too. So they change there son n take him home. Fantastic couldn't put it down, touched some very hard subjects but it was bloody brilliant. Thank you Samantha Christy for an amazing story. Five stars

But Does She Accept His Rules
The two main characters portrayed in this book are memorable and will demand your absolute attention. Charlie Tate is the only daughter of a famous self obsessed and abusive actress. Then, on the death of her mother, she is determined to find the twelve men she was forced to have sexual acts with when she was a child. And unfortunately those acts have shaped her subsequent life.Ethan Stone is the private investigator (PI) who she hires to find them. Charlie is shocked to discover that her mother's has left behind a diary with evidence of each man. But what has happened to each man? And what does she do with the information that the PI finds? There is chemistry between Charlie and Ethan from their first meeting and instant intimacy. But Ethan it not interested in having permanent relationships. His hook-up are temporary and casual. But why? What experiences have influenced his present behaviour?Well, this is the first book I have read by Samantha Christy and if you want to find out the intriguing aspects it contains, I suggest you get the book. I am certain that I will read more of her stories.
