Rhino Large View (4" X 2.6") + Grind - Auto Darkening Welding Helmet - Black RH5

This is an honest review - like said within this review Ive used MANY dif helmets - MANY all dif brands/manufacturersWORST WELDING HELMET - THE WORST LOOK ELSEWHEREFunny how "0 of 1 people found the following review helpful" because my review is ACCURATE!THIS helmet is noticeably SMALLER IN SIZE then ALL OTHERS! its FRICKN PUNY! read on...OH YEA - ONCE AMAZON REMOVES ALL CUSTOMER PICTURES YOULL NEVER ACTUALLY BE ABLE TO SEE IT IN COMPARISON TO ANOTHER OBJECT FOR ACTUAL SIZE REFERENCE!The picture shown is deceiving - the helmet is MUCH NARROWER than it appears onlineIt sits very closely to your head/face/forehead - which can be adjusted but not enough - it is a SMALL helmetThis helmet will be "CRAMMED UP AGAINST" YOUR FACE! VERY UNCOMFORTABLE! VERY VERY SMALL HELMET!Ive used Miller, Lincoln, and a couple others WITH NO PROBLEM FIT WISETHIS HELMET IS F'N TINY! (AGAIN) the picture shown is deceiving!Ill try to upload some pics, but Ive already repackaged mine for return - but even the box when you first look at it you WILL think "how can a welding helmet fit inside that?" - guaranteed youll agree with that!And then once it is assembled youll think it is small - WEIRD!...and it might not fit because of it - mine didnt fit me even at the most wide/extreme adjustments - too small - and Im NOT talking about the headband, that does adjust enough to fit - Im referring to the head band in relation to the helmet, my face was smashed up against it - see review for more details...Ive used Miller, Lincoln, $15 fixed shade helmets and ALL have fit me fine/comfortably FYI***to go on below - more specifics***This helmet is SMALL, in comparison to most others.Im taking a welding class and have used other helmets, and this one is alot smaller, very tight.There are TWO ADJUSTMENTS:1) the angle of the helmet... how much of your chin/neck it covers (or less)2) how closely the head band that straps to your head sits from the helmet - 3 settings: close, half way, farthestreferring to the plastic adjustable band that actually rests on your head - how far or close it is from the actual helmetAt the setting closest to your neck, meaning helmet covering your neck mostly, my face was touching the helmet in the middle setting, so I used the farthest setting...At that setting (#1 above) I needed to move it farther away from the helmet so my face wasnt smashed up against it - however...I wasnt able to have it cover my neck - there are 5 settings for how far down or up the helmet (permanently sits) - the lowest you can NOT use with the head band farthest (3rd setting) away from the helmetThere are 5 pegs the helmet angle can be set at - the lowest will cover/protect your neckHowever when the headband that rests on your head is the farthest setting (3rd or 3 avail) from the helmet you can NOT use the 5th and farthest angle which allows you to protect your neck area.So I cant use this helmet because it does not offer enough protectionIt feels "cramped" and is too smallAlso the helmet does NOT flip up and down like all others - it stays fixed and you have to either WEAR IT -or- REMOVE ITyou can not flip it up and down inbetween useSTRANGE!PROS:The view area is BIGOVERALL/SUMMARYHave to return it because it does not fit and CAN NOT BE ADJUSTED TO FITLAME!Ive used $15 fixed shade helmets that FIT correctly with no problems that feel "comfy"FYI - BEWAREhope this review helps you!

I bought this product for my fiancee and he was so pleased with it. He described the helmet as great!. He said that it was light in weight and it felt like he had nothing on his head. For months he had wished he could find a helment that would be lighter than the one he had so he looked at this one and debated on buying it or not so I took the liberty of ordering it for him as a Valentine Gift. Well needless to say i made a good decision because he tried it out lastnight at work and was please with it all the way around.

I received my helmet today and assembled it together to try it out... looked into the sun and no auto darkening occurred. I checked the batteries and they seemed to be fine til I took them out and popped them back in. The "battery low" flasher came on. So now I have to go spend another $8 to get two new batteries. I'd give it a 5/5 but since I wasn't able to use it because of the dead batteries I have to give it a 4/5. Overall I love the comfort and viewing size of the helmet.

At first it went light the middle of welding! Not safe. I am getting used to it and like the large viewing area but it's not worth a $100. It's made of cheep plastic that melts. It's hard to replace the front cover and feels like it's already misshaped after a week making it even harder to change the front cover. It doesn't come with any specifications so I dona't actually know how many sensors it has. It directly says that it is not to be used for overhead welding which I need it for. It does not have a grinding or cutting mode. Essentially it was never ever worth $250.00.

So far useing it in a class. No major issues. price and features are good. Way better than the cheap HF one I all ready have. I think I found a better deal though.Thats why 4 stars.

Hubby had to adjust the settings a bit but does what he needs it to do. Not a professional welder, but this hood does the job

I would of rated it no stars but I guess 1 will have to do. This thing is junk, good for nothing but breaking. I would never ever purchase a helmet online or through these guys again. Just pathetic, I'm getting my money back for sure.

had my doubt when i looked at the sun and all it did was blink? i contact the company and they gave me advice, go figure the sun was not the item to be looking at to trigger the device. it works great when welding and i would like this item and enjoy this item it a good tool if your a welder and what to see a wide view this is the helmet. setting are inside an a bit small for large fingers but over all i like it a lot and would recommend this to others. company was fast to resolve issues with my crazy testing of the auto dark..........
