Yup. It does. But having owned both, buy the Sena 20s. They’re easier. More compatible and more popular (easier to find others to pair with easily).

Q: Can it be used on a half helmet as well?

There is a kit for half helmet. This particular item is best for a full face helmet so I wouldn't suggest using it with a half helmet.. I hope this answers your question.

Q: Does the G4 work with the newer Scala Rider models?

According to http://cardosystems.com/compatibility/ yes it does. The directions they are giving are: ENTER INTERCOM PAIRING MODE ON THE SCALA RIDER G9: On the G9, select a Channel (A or B) to pair the other unit on. Press the desired Channel button for at least 5 seconds until the Red or Blue LED begins flashing rapidly. ENTER INTERCOM PAIRING MODE ON THE SECOND UNIT: G4: Press the desired Channel button for at least 5 seconds until the Red or Blue LED begins flashing rapidly. Once both units stop flashing they will display a solid Red or Blue LED (according to the Channel) for 2 seconds to confirm that they are paired and ready to make / receive intercom calls. Click-to-Link Intercom The following models are compatible for spontaneous “Click-to-Link” intercom: Q1 Q3 G4 (from s/w version 3.0) G9 / G9x Hope this helps

Q: Can it be used with out helmets

Hello, Tommy, I don't see why not. It is designed for helmets but it is a two-way radio system, therefore, it is not mandatory that you attach it to a helmet. However, I would not suggest not using them on your helmet. That is what they are designed for. If you need more information, please let me know
