This backpack is good for carrying around all the things that a 7 year old needs for a road trip or just a trip to the store. You wouldn't put many books in this - it is not a heavy backpack, but it is great for carrying an Ipad, markers, trinkets, candy, bow ties and all the other essentials a girl needs for the day. Loved the quality and loved the sparkle!!
