Kidcia Scientoy Microscope for Kids, 100X,400X and 1200X Magnification with Prepared Slides,Science Toys for Children, Blue/Yellow?

I bought this for my 5-year-old's Easter basket ... but he promptly found it so it became a just because gift and he LOVES it. You need batteries for it (not included) so at first I was worried it didn't work but once we added the batteries and got the hang of using it I realized it's actually a pretty cool little microscope to get kids started. In terms of the best age I would say that 5 might be a little young (my kiddo struggles to look through the viewfinder at times but he can do it with persistence and some help) but it would be a good fit for maybe 6-10 year olds. It has a drawer on the bottom with slides (comes with a bee leg to look at and then blank ones you can use to look at things of your choice). I would definitely buy it again.

Purchased this to help engage my three year old in science. It absolutely lived up to its expectation. While my three year old may be too young for this, he is so interested in collecting samples to place on the slide and view under the microscope. It comes with one labeled preloaded slide and several empty ones. There are a few different magnifying level options and ways to change the color too.

My sister loves when I buy educational toys for her kids! My nephew is into anything science right now and he is really enjoying this microscope. He has spent hours playing with the slides and making up his own science experiments. This microscope is fantastic for the price.

My son has found a new love for science and has asked me for a microscope for a while now. He plays with this constantly. Every thing goes in it to look at. Grass, food, string, crumbs, ect. This is a very nice kids toy to help fuel the love of science.

Gave this to my niece (8) for her birthday and she absolutely loves it. It's super easy to use and switch out the samples. It's great to see her excited to explore the world.

Despite all positive reviews for this product, what we received was honestly junk. The focus knobs would not stay in place, causing the stage to move up and down. That means as soon as you get something in focus and let go of the knobs, the stage then moves everything back out of focus. On top of this, some of the blank slides included had scratches on them when they arrived. I am in the process of returning it and purchasing a different product for my son.

Plastic lenses make it impossible to view anything in focus. We even bought extra packs of slides, tried looking at leaves, & couldn’t get anything to focus on even the lowest magnification. Was frustrating for our child, and for us as adults (and I took micro biology, lol)Will be contacting amazon for a return, since it’s unusable. Would not recommend.

The microscope works well enough for a toddler. I would not purchase this for a child that’s older than 6. It mimics a real microscope well enough for young students. I wish it came with more prepared slides.
