Perfect for breathing new life into an old Christmas tree (for one night, anyway… )
We had a spare potted Christmas tree, which is looking a little forlorn after the hot summer. Fifteen minutes wrapping it carefully in these lights; and positioning the surprisingly small battery/solar panel/control unit combo (in a small east-facing garden); and we just had to wait until sunset…. [Oh, the antici… pation (as Tim Curry once said)!]The lights are small, warm, and actually quite beautiful. Just on the ‘stationary’ programme – some of the others are fit-inducing!?! – they have given our poor tree new life. It looks fantastic! The accompanying instructions are very clear… – although I would have liked a detailed list of all the programmes. It is fun cycling through them, though! Please note: I’ve given five stars for “Battery life” because we installed them just before lunchtime, and they have come on quite brightly – even after a dullish day; and with the solar panel only facing the sun for a couple of hours. (If they go out before we go to bed, I shall revise my review accordingly; but only after a few days usage, of course.) It will be interesting to see how they cope as the nights grow ever longer; or the tree (and controller) get covered in snow!PS: Although the lights stayed at full brightness until 02:30, the following morning (nearly 10 hours of sparkle), the second night was not so good. And, therefore, because I suspect the batteries come from the factory fully-charged, I’m deducting a couple of stars. Admittedly – as I wrote above – our garden faces east, and the house therefore creates a big shadow in the afternoon… – but we got only one hour of full brightness out of the lights, last night. I have therefore moved the (exquisitely tiny) solar panel further out into the garden; but don’t expect much improvement. We shall see!

don't get the line tangled
stopped working after about 6 weeks - maybe waterproof, but possibly wind movement of the wire lets in water after a while

Best solar lights
I am a bit of a fairy light freak & I have loads around my garden.I've bought from many sources & some have only lasted a few weeks. These have been hung around the branches of 4 small trees in pots that surround my fishpond for months, from the spring, through summer & winter & they still work. It's now Feb & even though there is little if any direct sunlight on the panel, they still come on for a couple of hours. During the summer when they got a full charge, they were still lit at 4am. (no, I'm not a party animal, but the hounds wanted out for a toilet break)I'm going to buy more to replace the other ones bought elsewhere that were a complete waste of money.100% recommend but don't do what my Mum did with the set that I bought her, wind them around a lovely jasmine over an arch & then trim said jasmine along with the wire!

They don’t work
The lights work for a few seconds then switch off. Complete waste of money. Utter rubbish.

they work!
Ordered 2 sets of these fairy lights for the tree in our garden, they arrived in a medium size box from Amazon and they were actually in a much smaller box in side this, about 4 inches x 5 inches, I thought one set must have been missed, but no, both were in there. The solar panels are smaller than I expected just a couple of inches square, but having put them in our tree I can advise they work, last 2 nights they could be seen from our house, about 15 metres away, bright blue lights, we are impressed so far, come on when it gets dark about 5pm and were still on at 5am last 2 mornings, but early days, hope they last like this for a few years! I will try and remember to update in a few months.

So far so good
So far so good. Had them up for 3 weeks, turn on at dusk and stay on all night till dawn! They are quite bright too for solar lights. I have them draped over a larger bush in the garden. A great buy for solar lights as we have purchased some right rubbish in the past. These seem better made and give off more light!

Amazing and proved durable
I bought this item May 2018 and were exceptional, thoughout the summer months. The photo, attached, is Feb 2019, after a sunny day at approx 10 degrees, at 23.30.I had thought after quite poor performance, throughout the English , very cold, winter months; these lights were dead; and I would be throwing them away, like other prodructs ..... how wrong was I!Totally, back in love with my solar ligjts, they have proved very durable throughout, our winter, minus 3 degrees.Hoping they will stay as beautiful during our next English Summer, to come.
